Os usuários de arquivos buscam suprir suas necessidades informacionais no decorrer de suas pesquisas, sejam estas para determinados trabalhos ou para conhecimento próprio sobre a região em que residem. No Arquivo Histórico do Município de Florianópolis os usuários tendem, durante suas visitas, investigar assuntos relacionados à história de sua cidade, da sociedade ou de familiares. Sendo assim, este artigo é resultado de um trabalho de conclusão de curso e tem como objetivo geral conhecer o Arquivo Histórico Municipal de Florianópolis e seus usuários. Os objetivos específicos consistem em: a) investigar o perfil do usuário e suas necessidades informacionais; b) caracterizar os tipos de documentos do acervo; e, c) analisar ainfraestrutura física e o mobiliário do arquivo. Para isso, quanto aos objetivos, utilizou-se a pesquisa exploratória e descritiva, os procedimentos técnicos envolvem pesquisa documental e bibliográfica, e a forma de abordagem dos dados fundamenta-se em pesquisa qualitativa e quantitativa. Os instrumentos de coleta de dados foram compostos por fichas de cadastros dos usuários do arquivo. Os resultados da pesquisa apontam que os usuários, na maioria das vezes, são estudantes que buscam por assuntos do século XIX e XX referentes à cidade de Florianópolis ou aos patrimônios históricos da cidade, como exemplo, o Mercado Público. Verifica-se, ainda, a necessidade de verbas para manutenção de infraestrutura e contratação de Arquivistas para a instituição.
Archival users seek to meet their information needs in the course of their research, whether for certain jobs or for their own knowledge of the region in which they reside. In the Historic Archive of the Municipality of Florianópolis, users tend to investigate subjects related to the history of their city, society or family during their visits. Thus, this article is the result of a work of conclusion of course and has as general objective to know the Municipal Historical Archive of Florianópolis and its users. The specific objectives are: a) to investigate the user profile and informational needs; (b) characterize the types of documents in the acquis; and, c) analyze the physical infrastructure and the furniture of the archive. For this purpose, the exploratory and descriptive research was used, the technical procedures involve documentary and bibliographic research, and the data approach is based on qualitative and quantitative research. The instruments of data collection were composed of records of the users of theArchive. The results of the research indicate that the users, most of the time, are students who search for subjects of the 19th and 20th century referring to the city of Florianópolis or to the city's historical heritage, such as the Public Market. It isalso verified the need for funds to maintain infrastructure and hiring Archivists for the institution
