This text presents a historical journey of the General Conference of the Latin American episcopate structured in three moments: first, we note the time of the preparation which bears two distinct moments: before the Second Vatican Council and after the Council, when the work intensifies. This part is the most historic of the text. In a second moment, the event of the Conference itself, we see on this point a glimpse of the stronger lines of the Conference and which will draw the face of the Church of Latin America. Finally, the reception of Medellin. In this way, we have a broad, clear vision of the impo rtance and scope of the Medellin Conference for all of Latin America and for the whole Church.

Ce texte présente un parcours historique de la Conférence générale de l'épiscopat latino-américain structuré en trois moments: tout d'abord, on remarque le temps de la préparation qui porte deux moments distincts: avant le Concile Vatican II e après le Concile, quand les travaux s’intensifié. Cette partie est la plus historique du texto; dans un second moment, l’événement de la Conférence elle-même, nous voyons sur ce point une aperçu de les lignes plus forts de la Conférence et qui va dessiner le visage de l'Église de l'Amérique latine; enfin, la réception de Medellin. De cette manière, nous avons une vision large, claire de l'importance et du l'ampleur de la Conférence de Medellin pour toute l'Amérique latine et aussi pour toute l'Eglise.
