UMA LEITURA DO INSÓLITO NOS CONTOS “O HORLA”, DE MAUPASSANT E “O VISITANTE”, DE VICTOR GIUDICE

Os contos “O Horla”, de Maupassant e “O visitante”, de Giudice dialogam, levando-nos a crer que Giudice possa ter sido um provável leitor de seu predecessor francês, Maupassant. Embora Giudice tenha como provável fonte para a escrita de sua narrativa a de Maupassant, os caminhos traçados pelo autor para construir o elemento insólito que figura como mote da narrativa toma rumos diferentes em “O visitante”. Partindo dessas considerações, este artigo pretende mostrar as relações intertextuais entre os referidos contos, a forma como o duplo é tratado nas duas narrativas e como se configura o elemento insólito nos contos mencionados.

Giudice's short story "O Horla" dialogues with "The Visitor", a short story by Maupassant, in a way which leads us to believe that Giudice may have been a reader of his French predecessor, Maupassant. Although Giudice had based his narrative on Maupassant´s short story, the paths drawn by Giudice to construct the unusual elements that appears as a mote of his narrative takes different directions in "The visitor." Based on these considerations, this article intends to show the intertextual relations between the two stories, that is, the way the double is treated in the two narratives and how the unusual element is configured in the mentioned stories.
