UMA COMPREENSÃO SOBRE A AUTORIDADE: SEUS FUNDAMENTOS E EFEITOS NA RELAÇÃO EDUCATIVA

As relações entre professores e alunos são entrelaçadas por
muitas questões que fazem da prática educativa um momento complexo e
conturbado. Um dos conflitos que permeiam a sala de aula diz respeito à
autoridade do professor. Qual a sua legitimidade? Em que momentos o
professor deve usá-la? Quando é que o professor está tendo autoridade ou
está sendo autoritário? Existe essa diferenciação? Como o professor pode
exercer sua autoridade sem impedir que o aluno construa sua autonomia?
Partindo desses questionamentos, buscamos nesse trabalho, clarificar os
conceitos sobre autoritarismo e autoridade bem como perceber dentro desse
debate se há uma legitimidade para a autoridade na convivência entre as
pessoas, evidenciando qual o vínculo que se estabelece entre a autoridade
do adulto e a liberdade e autonomia da criança nas relações educativas.

The relationships between teachers and students are interwoven
by a lot of issues that make educational practice a complex and disturbing
moment. One of the conflicts that permeate the classroom is concerned to
the teacher’s authority. What is its legitimacy? In what moments should the
teacher use it? When is it that the teacher is having authority or is being
authoritarian? Does that differentiation exist? How can the teacher exercise
his/her authority without impeding that the student builds his/her own
autonomy? Having these questions in mind, we look for clarifying the concepts about authoritarianism and authority. We also want to observe if there is
legitimacy to authority in the coexistence among people, evidencing the
bond that is established between adult’s authority and children’s autonomy
/ freedom in educational relations. We tried to elucidate in what measure
the authority - in the relationships between teachers and students - contributes
to their education observing the differentiation between the legitimated
authority and the use of authoritarianism.
