Este estudo teve por objetivo inicial realizar uma análise descritiva acerca do perfil dos leilões ocorridos em ambiente de contratação regulada de energia elétrica e, na sequência, avaliar como as variáveis referentes à quantidade de lotes de energia vendidos, aos montantes previstos de investimento a ser realizado pelas entidades vendedoras de energia nos respectivos projetos de geração energética, o intervalo de tempo compreendido entre o ano da realização do leilão e o início do fornecimento da energia, e, ainda, o preço médio contratato por megawatt poderiam estar correlacionados entre si, ao longo do período compreendido entre 2005 e 2016. Com o auxílio de estatísticas descritivas e da análise de correlação, foi possível observar indícios de que, mesmo realizando a contratação de elevadas quantidades a longo prazo, a demanda elétrico-energética nacional tem oscilado para cima, demandando a contratação de energia elétrica adicional a fim mitigar o risco hidrológico da matriz elétrica nacional. Também foram identificados indícios de que o planejamento prévio acerca da demanda futura por energia elétrica, além de permitir contratar energia por um preço médio quase 37% menor, poderia possibilitar a realização de um nível de investimento consideravelmente maior, e isso, por sua vez, poderia se refletir na atividade econômica do país. A análise de correlação revelou que a variável “investimento previsto” foi aquela que apresentou maior relevância, considerada sua significância estatística em relação às demais variáveis analisadas neste estudo de natureza exploratório-descritiva, realizado a partir de dados reais e com o auxílio de métodos quantitativos aplicados.

The objective of this study was to conduct a descriptive analysis of the sale public profile in a regulated contracting environment of electric energy and then to evaluate how the variables related to the quantity of energy sold, the estimated investment amounts to be realized energy generation projects, the time interval between the year of the auction and the beginning of the energy supply, as well as the average contracted price per megawatt, could be correlated, between 2005 and 2016. Through the use of descriptive statistics and correlation analysis, it was possible to observe indications that, even when contracting high amounts in the long term, national electric-energy demand has oscillated upwards, demanding the contracting of additional electric energy in order to mitigate or hydrological bait of the national electric matrix. It was also identified indications that the previous planning about the future demand for electric energy, besides allowing to contract energy for an average price almost 37% smaller, could allow the realization of a considerably higher level of investment, and this, in turn, could be reflected in the economic activity of the country. The correlation analysis revealed that the variable "predicted investment" was the one that presented the most relevance, considering its statistical significance in relation to the other variables analyzed in this exploratory-descriptive study, based on real data and with the aid of quantitative methods applied.
