O romance Em nome do desejo (1985), de João Silvério Trevisan, articula construção de personagem que engendra forte tensão entre o desejo homoerótico sentido pelo protagonista, aliado às noções de corpo, desolação e, sobretudo, imagetização da solidão aflitiva advinda da separação amorosa. Nesse sentido, o narrador Tiquinho é visto na figura barthesiana do Escalpelado, padecendo das mais diversas agruras e mazelas que vão, paulatinamente, sendo plasmadas na estrutura narratológica e estilístico-formal do romance em questão.

The novel Em nome do desejo (1985), by João Silvério Trevisan, articulates the construction of a character that engenders a strong tension between the homoerotic desire felt by the protagonist, combined with the notion of body, desolation and, above all, imagery of the afflictive loneliness that comes from loving separation. . In this sense, the narrator Tiquinho is seen in the Barthesian figure of Escalpeld, suffering from the most diverse ailments that are gradually being shaped in the narratological and stylistic-formal structure of the novel in question.
