Este estudo analisou os espaços verdes da cidade de Vitória da Conquista – BA com o uso de geoprocessamento, sendo que as tipologias foram definidas com base na determinação em projeto, nos Decretos Municipais e sua relação com o uso do solo na atualidade. Na avaliação do uso do solo urbano, inicialmente utilizou-se a técnica de ampliação de contrastes de imagem de satélite, posteriormente os alvos foram identificados utilizando-se a metodologia de análise visual de imagens. Em seguida, foram feitas a checagem em trabalhos de campo. As áreas verdes definidas no Plano Diretor Urbano - PDU do ano de 1976 foram descritas com funções de conforto térmico, assegurando as condições de salubridade e proteção paisagística, através da criação de um sistema de áreas verdes. O percentual definido foi de 5% (cinco por cento) da área total loteada, destinada ao lazer sob a forma de praças, jardins, parques, com declividade máxima de até 10% (dez por cento), já para os lotes de chácaras, essa indicação aumentou para 10% (dez por cento) de área verde do total do terreno. No PDU de 2007, o percentual estabelecido foi de 15% a 25% dependendo da zona de uso, havendo uma separação entre outros tipos de uso, sem necessidade de alterar o destino das áreas verdes para outros fins. Constatou-se desigualdade na distribuição espacial das áreas verdes em todas as zonas e bairros, com concentração elevada nasáreas próximas ao Parque Municipal da Serra do Peri-Peri.

This study analyzed the green spaces of the city of Vitória da Conquista – Bahia, Brazil with the use of geoprocessing, and the typologies were defined based on the determination in design, in the urban laws and their relation with the current land use. In the evaluation of urban land use, the technique of magnifying satellite image contrasts was initially used, later the targets were identified using the methodology of photointerpretation analysis. Then the fieldwork was checked. The green areas defined in the Urban Master Plan of the year 1976 were described with functions of thermal comfort, ensuring the conditions of health and landscape protection, through the creation of the system of green areas. The percentage defined was 5% of the all area, allocated to leisure in the form of squares, gardens, parks, with the maximum slope of up to 10%, for land of farms, this indication increased to 10% of the all area of the land. In the Urban Master Plan of the year 2007, the percentage established was 15% to 25% depending on the area of use, having the separation between other types of use, without the need to change the destination of the green areas for other purposes. It was verified an inequality in the spatial distribution of the green areas in all the zones and neighborhoods, with high concentration in the areas near the Municipal Park of the Peri-Peri.
