AS TIC’S NAS ESCOLAS E OS DESAFIOS NO ENSINO DE GEOGRAFIA NA EDUCAÇÃO BÁSICA

Cada vez mais as Tecnologias da Informação e Comunicação (TIC) estão presentes na educação básica, gerando muitas interrogações. Com a disciplina de Geografia não é diferentes. O objetivo da pesquisa aqui apresentada é compreender os desafios que as TIC colocam para o ensino da Geografia, identificando as implicações e possibilidades para melhorá-lo. A metodologia adotada seguiu os parâmetros da pesquisa empírica, com foco nas relações entre a tecnologia e o ensino de Geografia na escola. Os resultados revelaram que o ensino de geografia convive com três desafios, os quais ultrapassam a necessidade de salas de computadores e conexão com a internet. São ações específicas a serem assumidas pelo professor de geografia, como construir com o aluno conhecimentos geográficos acerca das implicações do mundo global sobre o espaço local, na perspectiva da formação de sujeitos críticos. Outro desafio é incorporar as TIC ao cotidiano das aulas, de modo a explorar as tecnologias no que possam contribuir para o ensino de geografia. O mais difícil dos desafios é utilizar as TIC para construir conhecimentos geográficos sobre o mundo global. Cada desafio identificado na pesquisa, porém, suscita outros, cujo estudo pode apontar novas perspectivas de uso das TIC nas escolas.

Technologies of the Information and Comunicação (TIC) are each time more gifts in the basic education, generating many interrogations. With it disciplines of Geography is not different. These research presented here has objective of to understand the challenges that the TIC cause in the Geography education, identifying the implications and possibilities to improve it. The methodology followed the parameters of the empirical research, with focus in the relations between the technology and the geography education in the school. The results had disclosed that the geography education coexists three challenges, which exceed the necessity of rooms of computers and connection with the Internet. They are specific actions to be assumed for the teacher of Geography, as to construct with the pupil geographic knowledge concerning the implications of the global world on the local space, in the perspective of the formation of critical citizens. Another challenge is to incorporate the TIC to the daily one of the lessons, in order to explore the technologies in what they can contribute for the Geography education. Most difficult of the challenges it is to use the TIC to construct geographic knowledge on the global world. Each challenge identified in the research, however, excites others, whose study it can point new perspectives of use of the TIC in the schools.
