Este artigo propõe uma reflexão sobre a Escola latino-americana de teoria de Relações Internacionais. Ao adotarmos como referência o estudo de Raúl Bernal-Meza (2005), destacamos a importância da perspectiva histórica na análise de uma tradição de pensamento inserida em contexto regional. Apresentamos a contribuição de Hélio Jaguaribe, cujo trabalho oferece ferramentas analÃticas para a compreensão da dinâmica internacional latino-americana.

This article aims a reflection on a Latin American School of International Relations theory. This paper draws upon Raúl Bernal-Meza's study América Latina en El Mundo: El pensamiento latinoamericano y la teorÃa de relaciones internacionales (2005), taken as a reference that illustrates the importance of the historical perspective for the analysis of a tradition of thought embedded in a regional context. We present an analysis of the contribution of Hélio Jaguaribe, whose work provides analytical tools for understanding of international dynamic of Latin America.
