O objetivo do presente artigo e, por um lado, analisar a história da constituição do corpus das obras de Karl Marx e Friedrich Engels e das sucessivas tentativas de publicação das suas Obras Completas (MEGA, MEW, MEGA2), procurando identificar os vários obstáculos de natureza política e teórica que retardaram a sua realização. Por outro lado, procura-se, igualmente, evidenciar a relação deste processo com a história da difusão e recepção das obras de Marx e Engels.

The purpose of this article is to analyze the history of the constitution of the corpus of the works of Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels and the successive attempts to publish their Complete Works (MEGA, MEW, MEGA2), trying to identify the different obstacles of a political and theoretical nature that delayed its realization. On the other hand, it is also tried to show how the history of the diffusion and reception of the works of Marx and Engels is closely associated with this process.
