SOBRE O DELFIM: OS ARTIFÍCIOS DE UMA NARRAÇÃO RETOCADA PELA MEMÓRIA

Com base em um instrumental crítico que se estabeleceu a partir dos anos 70 do século XX,
no que se refere à leitura da obra literária como um corpo a ser percorrido, este estudo pretende
investigar no romance O Delfim, do autor português José Cardoso Pires, suas estratégias de narração
contaminadas pelo discurso memorialístico assumido pelo narrador, bem como as relações entre tais
artifícios e a temática geral do romance. A aposta inabalável na descoberta da necessidade de manter o
elo discursivo com o outro – o leitor que investirá nessas estratégias como forma de desvendamento do
discurso – é talvez o grande segredo desse texto que fez da questão neo-realista a sua intrínseca ruína.

Resumo Inglês:

Based on a critical instrumental that was set from the 70’s in the nineteenth century, related
to the reading of a literary work as a “body” to be explored, this study intends to read on the novel O
Delfim - by José Cardoso Pires, portuguese author – the strategies of narration memorialistic
contaminated by speech given by the narrator, as well as the relations between such devices and the
general theme of the novel. The adamant venture in the discovery of the necessity to keep the
discoursive link with the other – the reader who invest in these strategies as a way of uncovering the
discourse - perhaps is the great secret of these texts that made of the neorealistic matter its intrinsic
“ruin”.
