SOBRE A IMPLANTAÇÃO DO CURSO DE SERVIÇO SOCIAL NA UNIVERSIDADE DE SÃO PAULO

Resumo Português:

A proposta do artigo é discutir a questão da ausência do curso de graduação em Serviço Social em uma das mais renomadas academias latino-americanas: a Universidade de São Paulo. Trata-se de uma pesquisa documental e bibliográfica, pioneira acerca do objeto, a qual culminou na dissertação de mestrado que versa sobre a urgente necessidade de problematizar o quadro exposto, sabendo-se que já existe um projeto pedagógico completo alinhado ao projeto ético-político profissional, cujo foi publicado na revista Temporalis no ano de 2002. À luz da teoria social marxista (materialismo histórico e dialético), o artigo analisa os fenômenos sociais em seu complexo e contraditório processo de produção e reprodução, identificando as forças em confronto no interior dessa dinâmica. O objeto não deve ser analisado como fato em si, mas como parte estrutural do todo social e sob o prisma da defesa de direitos. Como possíveis motivos para a não implantação, apontam-se a correlação de forças no ambiente institucional da Universidade de São Paulo e a desmobilização da categoria profissional de assistentes sociais na luta pela efetiva implantação do curso.

Resumo Inglês:

The purpose of this paper is to discuss the issue of the absence of the undergraduate degree in Social Work in one of the most prestigious Latin American academies: the University of São Paulo. This is a documental and bibliographic research, pioneer on the subject, which culminated in the dissertation that deals with the urgent needs in discuss the scene exposed, knowing that there is already a complete educational project in line with the ethical-political project professional, which was published by the Temporalis magazine, in 2002. In the light of Marxist social theory (dialectics and historical materialism), this paper analyzes the social phenomena in its complex and contradictory production process and reproduction, identifying the forces in conflict within this dynamic. The object should not be considered as fact in itself but as a structural part of the social whole and in the light of the rights of defense. As possible reasons for non-implementation, pointing to the correlation of forces in the institutional environment of USP and the demobilization of the professional category of social workers for the effective implementation this course.
