Hoje, além do trabalho realizado em sala de aula, a professora é presidenta da Associação Nacional de História (ANPUH) e pesquisadora do Instituto de Estudos de Gênero (IEG) da UFSC. Suas pesquisas têm ênfase em História do Brasil República, contemplando principalmente as temáticas referentes aos feminismos, ás relações de gênero, à história das mulheres, à memória, à história oral, à história do tempo presente e à história comparativa.
Today, besides the work done in the classroom, the teacher is president of the National History Association (ANPUH) and researcher at the Institute for Gender Studies (IEG) at UFSC. His researches have an emphasis on History of Brazil Republic, focusing mainly on themes related to feminisms, gender relations, women's history, memory, oral history, history of the present time and comparative history.
