Bioarte, conceito em construção que engloba pesquisa em arte, ciência e tecnologia. Dentre os campos explorados pela bioarte destaco: algoritmos genéticos, vida artificial, robótica que simule sistemas naturais e manipulação biológica da vida. Foco aqui principalmente em trabalhos cuja poética se relaciona à criação artificial de sistemas vivos. Trago uma noção geral sobre sistemas vivos, evolução, cibernética e vida artificial, conceitos importantes para se entender a bioarte. Apresento uma ideia do que caracterizam os sistemas vivos, recorrendo a teoria sobre autopoieses, desenvolvida pelos biólogos chilenos Maturana e Varela. A cibernética, penso a partir de sua relação com a simulação de sistemas vivos, mecanismos de vida e evolução artificial. Como artistas referências em bioarte, selecionei Christa Sommerer & Laurent Mignonneau, Bernd Lintermann , Karl Simns, Leonel Moura e Eduardo Kac. Faço uma aproximação da bioarte com o jogo pervasivo Ciberestuário Manguezais, proposição de Yara Guasque e a instalação Vaga-lume Eletroluminescente de Cristina Oliveira.
Bioart, building concept that includes research in art, science and technology. The highlights of bioart are: genetic algorithms, artificial life, robotics that mimic natural systems and biological manipulation of life. I Focused here mainly on works which relate to the poetic creation of artificial living systems, and bring an understanding on living systems, evolution, cybernetics and artificial life, the important concepts to understand bioart. I present here an idea of what characterizes a living system, using the theory of autopoiesis, developed by the Chilean biologists Maturana and Varela. Cybernetics, I work on his relationship with the simulation of living systems, mechanisms of life and artificial evolution. As bioart artists references, I selected Christa Sommerer & Laurent Mignonneau, Bernd Lintermann Karl Simns, Leonel Moura and Eduardo Kac. and work on approach to bioart, with the Pervasive game Ciberestuário Manguezais, Yara Guasque propositions and the Vaga-lume Eletroluminescente installation by Cristina Oliveira.
