RESUMO
A sexualidade é uma dimensão humana essencial, e deve ser entendida na totalidade dos seus
sentidos como tema e área de conhecimento. O primeiro teórico a falar sobre a sexualidade
infantil foi Sigmund Freud. Nos dias atuais, a sexualidade, se configura como uma área de
estudos e pesquisas. De acordo com Freud (2006) a sexualidade nos acompanha desde o
nascimento até a morte. Observa-se atualmente uma escassez de estudos voltados para o papel
dos pais na educação sexual das crianças desde a primeira infância, para que estes possam
chegar à adolescência segura e consciente de sua maturação sexual e tendo consciência de sua
sexualidade. O objetivo deste artigo e explanar sobre o desenvolvimento sexual segundo a
vertente psicanalítica, explicitando as fases psicossexuais proposta por Freud (2006). Também
será realizado um breve apanhando a respeito do papel dos pais neste processo, com algumas
orientações.

ABSTRACT
Sexuality is an essential human dimension, and should be understood in all itssenses as
subject matter and area of expertise. The first theorist to talk about child
sexuality was Sigmund Freud. Nowadays, sexuality, is configured as a field of study and
research. According to Freud (2006) sexuality accompanies us from birth to death. There is
currently a dearth of studies into the role of parents in sex education of children from early
childhood, so that they can reach their teens safe and aware of hissexual maturation, and being
aware of their sexuality. The purpose of this article and expound upon the sexual
development according to the aspect of psychoanalysis, explaining the psychosexual
stages proposed by Freud (2006). Also there will be a brief overview on the role of parents in
this process, withsome guidance.
