O presente trabalho busca discutir o cuidado com a família dos pacientes atendidos nas instituições de saúde mental pós reforma psiquiátrica no Brasil. Trata-se de uma pesquisa bibliográfica onde buscou-se embasamentos necessários para a consecução das análises. A ênfase na família se dá pelo fato desses serem os principais cuidadores, onde a realidade socioeconômica e cultural brasileira, muitas vezes não permite o que se espera da reforma psiquiátrica. Portanto, a rede e os equipamentos de saúde disponíveis para atender esse paciente devem atentar-se na importância que os membros familiares têm no tratamento e posteriormente na convivência e socialização desses no meio familiar e em sociedade.
Resumo Inglês:
This study aims to discuss care with the family of patients attended at mental health institutions after psychiatric reform in Brazil. It is a bibliographical research where we searched for the basics necessary for the accomplishment of the analyzes. The emphasis on the family is due to the fact that they are the main caregivers, where the Brazilian socioeconomic and cultural reality often does not allow what is expected of the psychiatric reform. Therefore, the network and the health equipment available to care for this patient should pay attention to the importance that the family members have in the treatment and subsequently in the coexistence and socialization of these in the family environment and in society
