Seeds of S. capitata Vog., S. macrocephala MB Ferr. S. Costa, S. scrabra Vog., S. grandifolia MB Ferr. S. Costa, S. humilis HBK, S. gracilis HBK, S. viscosa Sw. and S. guianensis , (Aubl.) Sw. varieties: microcephala MB Ferr. et S. Costa, canescens MB Ferr. et S. Coast and vulgarisMB Ferr. and S. Costa, were used in 3 experiments in the laboratory to determine the percentage of dormancy and germination index, considering only the temperature factor. A high degree of dormancy was evidenced in the results, reflecting a very low germination index
