O objetivo deste artigo consiste em mostrar o estreito vínculo existente entre os escritores dos primeiros séculos da fé cristã com a Sagrada Escritura. De fato, expressaram por ela uma reverência a tal ponto elevada, que chegaram ocasionalmente a identifcá-la com o próprio Senhor. Possuíam-na mesmo impressa na memória. Por isso, é possível claramente perceber como, a partir dela, os Padres se alimentaram espiritualmente da Palavra de Deus, fzeram progredir a Teologia e agiram em sua prática pastoral. No presente estudo recorda- se igualmente a importante “Instrução sobre o Estudo dos Padres da Igreja na Formação Sacerdotal”, publicada em 10 de novembro de 1989, cujas afrmações iluminam o tema em questão. O artigo é enriquecido por valiosos trechos extraídos das obras dos Padres, que recordam a sua relevância para a vida da Igreja ainda hoje.
Tis article aims to establish the close relationship that exists between the scriptors from the early centuries of the Christian faith and the Sacred Scripture. Indeed, they expressed for it a so great reverence, that sometimes they identifed it with the Lord Himself. Tey even had it imprinted in their memory. Terefore, it is clearly possible to see how, from it, the Fathers nourished themselves spiritually from the Word of God, made progress in Teology, and acted in their pastoral practice. Te present study also recalls the important “Instruction on the Study of the Fathers of the Church in Priestly Formation,” published on November 10, 1989, whose statements illuminate the theme in question. Te article is enriched by valuable passages extracted from the works of the Fathers, which recall their relevance to the life of the Church today.
