A Doença de Cushing é uma condição rara, de relativa dificuldade diagnóstica e de alta mortalidade e morbidade. O presente estudo trata-se de uma pesquisa aprofundada sobre a Síndrome de Cushing, suas características e consequências, visto que na literatura atual ocorre certo déficit de materiais detalhados sobre esta disfunção. Com esta pesquisa, visamos trazer aspectos significativos da doença por meio da análise criteriosa de artigos científicos já existentes para expandir a compreensão dos mecanismos de ação da doença, suas formas de apresentação e reduzir as adversidades ao reconhecê-la. O extenso conhecimento do hipercorticolismo e suas formas de manifestação no corpo humano evita diagnósticos tardios, aumento da mortalidade em decorrência do atraso no tratamento, complicações futuras decorrentes da doença e recidivas. Desta forma, tópicos importantes são amplamente discutidos neste artigo com o objetivo de explorar o entendimento das questões fisiopatológicas, bioquímicas e genéticas da Doença de Cushing.
Cushing’s disease is a rare condition, with relative diagnostic difficulties and high mortality and morbidity. The present study is an in-depth research on Cushing’s syndrome, its characteristics and consequences, since in the current literature there is a lack of detailed materials on this dysfunction. With this research, we aim to bring significant aspects of the disease through the careful analysis of existing scientific articles to expand understanding of the mechanisms of action of the disease, its presentation and reduce adversities to recognize it. The extensive knowledge of hypercorticolism and its forms of manifestation in the human body avoids late diagnosis, increased mortality due to delayed treatment, future complications resulting from the disease and relapses. Thus, important topics are extensively discussed in this article in order to explore the understanding of the pathophysiological, biochemical and genetic issues of Cushing’s Disease.
