O presente texto objetiva apresentar a Teoria das Representações Sociais como referencial teórico-metodológico para realização de trabalhos em Educação Ambiental. Para tanto, nos pautamos na obra de Moscovici, Spink e Jodelet para fundamentação do conceito e dos elementos constituintes das representações sociais. No que se refere à Educação Ambiental, recorremos às contribuições de Jacobi e Leff, como eixos teóricos para reflexão acerca de como a relação ambiente-cidadania-sociedade se insere no processo de formação e prática docente.
The present study aims to present the Theory of Social Representations as a theoretical and methodological reference for the accomplishment of works in Environmental Education. For this, we focus on the work of Moscovici, Spink and Jodelet to justify the concept and the constituent elements of social representations. With regard to Environmental Education, we have used the contributions of Jacobi and Leff as theoretical axes for reflection on how the relation environment-citizenship-society is inserted in the process of teacher training and practice.
