Representações sobre práticas religiosas africanas: a visão dicotomista colonial entre “civilizados” e “não civilizados”

O presente artigo traz algumas reflexões sobre formas de representações oriundas de práticas religiosas africanas, a partir da visão colonial binária “civilizados” e “não civilizados”. As análises recaem a partir de fontes primárias e secundárias. Contamos com etnografias de investigadores portugueses que apresentam em suas narrativas, o lugar e o papel desempenhado por africanos que compartilharam de suas experiências religiosas entre os séculos XVI ao XX. Compreender algumas representações de práticas religiosas africanas, envolvendo categorias tais como, seitas, cosmologia, existência humana, e, por conseguinte, um (ré) conhecimento sobre valores religiosos africanos pautados no princípio da ancestralidade são algumas possibilidades de interpretações presentes em nossas análises.
Resumo Inglês:
The present article brings some reflections on forms of representations originating from African religious practices, from the binary colonial vision “civilized” and “uncivilized”. The analyzes fall from primary and secondary sources. We have ethnographies of Portuguese researchers who present in their narratives the place and the role played by Africans who shared their religious experiences between the 16th and 20th centuries. Understanding some representations of African religious practices, involving categories such as sects, cosmology, human existence, and therefore a (back) knowledge about African religious values based on the principle of ancestry are some possibilities of interpretations present in our analyzes
