Partindo dos estudos de Michel Foucault a respeito das genealogias das relações de poder e da história da loucura na Era Clássica, o presente artigo visa realizar uma leitura crítica de dois textos do escritor brasileiro Carlos Drummond de Andrade, observando como a ideia de anormalidade se constitui através de uma “vontade de verdade”, que por meio de dispositivos de controle cria formas de segregação da alteridade desviante, impondo-lhe como destino a prisão, o manicômio, o esquecimento.

Starting from the studies of the Michel Foucault about the genealogy of power relationships and the history of madness in the Classical Era, this research aims to accomplish a critical reading of two texts from the brazilian writer Carlos Drummond de Andrade. We observe how the idea of abnormality is constituted by a real will, which through control devices creates forms of segregation of deviant alterity by imposing as fate the prison, the asylum and the oblivion.
