A finalidade deste artigo é analisar a obra Quarto de despejo, de Carolina Maria
de Jesus, atentando para as representações da figura feminina que estão presentes nela. Tal
análise será feita dentro de uma perspectiva feminista, considerando o lugar da mulher
escritora na contemporaneidade e as especificidades da produção literária de autoria feminina.
Neste viés, serão analisadas não só as representações que Carolina de Jesus faz das outras
mulheres, mas também de si mesma e de seu ofÃcio de escritora, marcado pelas configurações
de raça, gênero e classe.
Resumo Inglês:
This article’s aim is to analyze Quarto de despejo, by Carolina Maria de Jesus,
paying attention to the representations of female figures that appear in the book. This analysis
will be done from a feminist perspective, considering the place of women writers in
contemporaneity and the specificities of female literary production. By considering this point
of view, it will be analyzed not only the way Carolina de Jesus represents other women but
also the way she represents herself and her literary work, characterized by race, class and
gender configurations.
