Nas últimas décadas a importância cultural do ‘fenômeno moda’ vem crescendo, fruto de pesquisas em diversas áreas, como a história, sociologia, antropologia, semiótica, psicologia entre outras. Partindo dessa interdisciplinaridade que é própria do fenômeno moda, a presente pesquisa tentará elucidar algumas questões desse campo de estudo, realizando uma intersecção com outro campo, a arte. Dessa forma, o trabalho visa analisar a interação entre a produção do costureiro-artista Paul Poiret e o campo da arte. Para atingir seu objetivo, o artigo traz, inicialmente, uma breve síntese sobre a influência mútua entre arte e moda no início do século XX. Logo em seguida, relata a relação entre arte, moda e política e discorre sobre a interação de Poiret com a vanguarda artística do início do século XX. E finalmente, realiza uma análise histórico-semiótica de uma imagem do catálogo de moda “Les Robes de Paul Poiret”, ilustrado pelo artista Paul Iribe em 1908.

Over the last decades, the cultural importance of the "fashion phenomenon" has been growing, resulting from researches in several fields such as history, sociology, anthropology, semiotics, psychology, among others. From this interdisciplinarity, which is a characteristic of the fashion phenomenon, the present research will attempt to clarify some questions in this field of study, performing an intersection with another field: the arts. Thus, the study aims to analyze the interaction between the couturier and artist, Paul Poiret, and the arts. To achieve its objective, the article initially presents a brief summary of the mutual influence between art and fashion in the early XX century. Next, it reports the relation among art, fashion, and politics, and discusses the interaction of Poiret with the artistic avant-garde of the early XX century. Lastly, the article performs a historical and semiotic analysis of an image from the fashion catalog "Les Robes de Paul Poiret", illustrated by the artist Paul Iribe, in 1908.
