AS RELAÇÕES DE PODER ENTRE O MONARCA E O PAPA E AS COMPETÊNCIAS INSTITUCIONAIS NOS PROCESSOS DOS TEMPLÁRIOS NA FRANÇA ENTRE E OS ANOS DE 1307 A 1312

Muitos foram os confrontos entre as instituições Monarquia e Papado no período medieval. As
mudanças ocorridas nestas instituições, a partir do século XII, trarão consequências para os períodos
posteriores. Um dos resultados é o choque, ocorrido no final do século XIII e começo do século XIV,
entre o rei francês Felipe IV, o Belo, e dois dos papas que foram contemporâneos a ele: Bonifácio VIII e
Clemente V. No papado de Clemente V (1305-1314), algumas de suas ações e as insistentes tentativas do
rei em assumir a condução dos processos dos Templários levaram a ter relações conflitivas de poderes
entre eles. O objetivo central desta pesquisa é tratar sobre as relações de poder entre o rei Felipe, o Belo, e
o papa Clemente V, conforme aparecem no Le Dossier de l’Affaire des Templiers, que abrange o período
de 1307 a 1312 na França.

There were a lot of confrontations between the Monarchy and the Papacy during the Middle
Age. The changes occurred in these institutions since the XII century had brought consequences for later
periods. One of these results was the struggle happened in the end of XIII century and beginning of XIV
century between the French King Philip (the Handsome) and two of his contemporary Popes: Boniface
VIII and Clement V. During Clement V Papacy (1305-1314) some of his actions and the insistent trials of
the king in assume the conduction of the Templars processes led to conflictive power relations between
them. The central objective of this research is discuss the power relations between the king Philip (the
Handsome) and the Pope Clement V in “Le Dossier de l´Affaire des Templiers”, covering the period enter
1307 to 1312 at France.
