Neste artigo pretendemos investigar, a partir da análise de alguns fragmentos da Suma Teológica de Tomás de Aquino, se o intelecto humano pode conhecer o singular material. Para tanto, abordaremos os termos “certa refexão” e “conversão à imagem sensível” para buscar compreender a relação do inteligível com o sensível. Isto posto, iniciando a pesquisa pelo “conhecimento sensível”, queremos nos perguntar se este é imprescindível para o conhecimento intelectual. Ademais, analisando os sentidos internos, buscaremos entender como eles criam as imagens das coisas sensíveis, uma vez que estas são necessárias para obtenção do conhecimento. Por isso, essa pesquisa tem o intuito de esclarecer as difculdades na interpretação da epistemologia tomasiana acerca da relação entre o sensível e o inteligível. O artigo procura mostrar as difculdades para harmonizar estas afrmações no contexto da epistemologia tomista

: In this article we intend to investigate, from some fragments of the Summa Teologica of Tomas Aquinas, if the human intellect is able know the unique material. Terefore, we will cover the terms “right thinking” and “conversion to sensitive image” to seek to understand the relationship of intelligible with the sensitive. Ten, in the search for the “sensitive knowledge” we intent to ask us if this is indispensable for intellectual knowledge. Furthermore, analyzing the internal senses we will endeavor to understand how they create images of sensible things, since they are necessary for obtaining knowledge. Terefore, this research aims to clarify the difculties in the interpretation of Tomasian epistemology on the relationship between the sensible and intelligible. Te article tries to show the difculties to harmonize these statements in the context of Tomistic epistemology.
