Resumo Português:

O objetivo deste artigo é mostrar a complexidade que os estudiosos da relação cidadecampo
precisam enfrentar na realização de suas pesquisas. Assim, foi feito um
levantamento dos principais autores que abordam essa temática, mostrando as diferentes
linhas de abordagem. Buscamos demonstrar também que a contraposição urbano-rural
vai muito além da diferenciação entre cidade e campo e que esses espaços não podem
ser identificados como dicotômicos, já que a modernização da sociedade engendrou
profundas transformações em ambos, estreitando e intensificando as relações
estabelecidas entre eles. Nesse sentido, ressaltamos a necessidade de que o urbano e o
rural precisam ser encarados como espacialidades interdependentes e complementares,
as quais se mesclam, formando um híbrido que complexifica ainda mais a análise.

Resumo Inglês:

The main goal of this paper is to show the complexity of the city-field relationship and
the researches involving this subject. Thus was made one search of the main authors of
this thematic showing the different ways to get this subject. We tried also to
demonstrate that the contradiction between the urban and the agricultural area goes
beyond of the differentiation between city and field and that this two areas can not be
identified like two opposite places, once that the society modernization applied deep
transformations in both intensifying the relation between them. In this sense, we
reinforce the necessity that these two areas need to be faced like interdependent and
complementary, making a hybrid that gets more complex to be analyzed.
