QUESTÕES TERMINOLÓGICAS EM LÍNGUAS ESTRANGEIRAS E SUAS IMPLICAÇÕES PARA O PROFISSIONAL DA ÁREA DE SECRETARIADO

O objetivo deste trabalho foi o de investigar questões linguísticas específicas da linguagem técnica em língua francesa e inglesa com base em um levantamento e análise de artigos jornalísticos da área financeira. O intuito foi apresentar exemplos autênticos da linguagem especializada nos referidos idiomas e fornecer subsídios para profissionais da área de secretariado e de áreas afins que precisam lidar com a linguagem profissional em línguas estrangeiras. A pesquisa, de base qualitativa, partiu da exploração e análise de artigos retirados de jornais escritos em francês e inglês. Os artigos foram analisados à luz de subsídios teóricos advindos da área de Terminologia. A investigação foi feita em três etapas: (a) levantamento de aspectos teóricos relativos à terminologia e suas aplicações, (b) breve caracterização da composição do texto jornalístico, (c) seleção e análise dos termos e expressões retirados dos textos pesquisados. Os resultados revelaram equivalências lexicais e semânticas de termos, características da escrita de cada idioma estudado além de questões terminológicas específicas, permitindo uma melhor compreensão sobre a linguagem financeira.

The aim of this study was to investigate specific linguistic issues of the technical language in French and English languages starting from the selection and analysis of newspapers articles about the financial area. The objective was to present examples of authentic texts in the referred languages for those who work at the secretarial area as well as for professionals who need to deal with technical foreign language. This research, which is qualitative-based, started from the exploitation and analysis of articles taken from newspapers written in French and English. The articles were analyzed taking into account theoretical basis from Terminology studies. The investigation was done in three phases: (a) investigation of theoretical aspects concerning the terminology and its applications, (b) a brief characterization of newspaper texts organization. (c) selection and analysis of terms and expressions of the selected texts. The results showed lexical and semantic equivalences of terms as well as writing features of both languages, besides specific terminological issues, which permitted a better understanding of the language used in the financial area.
