Este artigo trata da produção historiográfica sobre os judeus no Brasil, desde o período que abrange a colonização, levando-se em conta a ampla e diversificada atuação destes sujeitos, perpassando pelas mais variadas esferas sociais, políticas, econômicas, culturais e religiosas, com indicações de tipologias dos estudos, aspectos abordados, opções metodológicas e fontes pesquisadas. O objetivo é apresentar um balanço inicial dessa produção acadêmica e, ao mesmo tempo, apontar questões, discutir problemas e identificar os desafios dessa área de pesquisa.
This article presents the historiography production about the Jews in Brazil since the period, englobing their settlement, taking into consideration the wide and the diversified role of these individuals, in the most different sectors of the community, such as the social, political, economic, cultural and religious fields, according to the kind of studies, the approached subjets, the methodological options and the researched sources. The objective of this article is that of presenting an initial summary, and at the same time, point out questions, discuss problems and identify the challenges of this area of research.
