A pesquisa é focada nas potencialidades turísticas de uma vila situadana capital de Teresina/PI. A Vila da Paz é um território que se destaca a partir da resistência e resiliência da sua comunidade. A permanência no local, a inserção ao bem estar e as melhorias na qualidade de vida da comunidade ocasionam em decorrência de projetos socioeducativos e religiosos liderados por um pároco. Assim o presente trabalho aponta para um planejamento turístico a partir da história e da identidade que se constrói com estes projetos liderados pelo padre da Igreja católica, um estrangeiro que se instalou na localidade, bem como na perpetuação desta história e da sua comunidade como fator passível de geração de renda para seus moradores por meio de um planejamento turístico. Assim, se observa alguns meios de elaborar atividades turísticas naquele espaço que ainda não foi turistificado, ou seja, identificar potencialidades turísticas na Vila da Paz.
The essay presents the tourist potential of a village located in the capital of Teresina/PI. Vila da Paz is a territory that stands out in that municipality due to the resistance and resilience of its community. The permanence in the place, the insertion into well-being and the improvements in the quality of life of the community result from socio-educational and religious projects led by a parish priest. Thus, this work points to a tourist planning based on the history and identity that is constructed withthese projects led by the priest of the Catholic Church, a foreigner who settled in the locality, as well as in the perpetuation of this history and its community as a factor capable of generating income for its residents through tourist planning. Thus, some means of developing tourist activities in that space that has not yet been touristified are observed, that is, identifying tourist potential in Vila da Paz.
