A partir de um percurso teórico-caracterizador do período moderno/pós-moderno – Berman, (2007); Giddens (1991) –, pretendemos em nossa exposição problematizar o campo teórico conhecido como Linguística Aplicada (LA), de modo a ressaltar a sua atual emergência epistemológica: é necessário compreender a vida social – moderna e quem sabe pós-moderna – com os grupos minoritários “em suas perspectivas e vozes, sem hierarquizá-los” (MOITA-LOPES, 2006, p. 96). Dessa forma – apoiados em Moita-Lopes (1996; 2006), Rojo (2006), Bohn (2005), Fabrício (2006), Rajagopalan (2003, 2006a; 2006b) e Hall (2004) – pretendemos discorrer sobre a atual perspectiva da LA e as suas inquietantes indagações, ao observarmos as novas identidades da modernidade presentes “ficcionalmente” nas tirinhas de Aline, de Adão Iturrusgarai (2007, 2009a, 2009b). Concluímos com este, portanto, que novas identidades surgiram no contexto da modernidade e, assim, emerge no campo em questão a necessidade de construção de novos paradigmas teóricos e práticos.

With a theoretical characterization of the modern/postmodern – Berman (2007), Giddens (1991) – we want with our exposure to realize a problematization of the theoretical field known as Applied Linguistics (LA), so as well as to highlight the Current epistemological emergency: it is necessary to understand the social life – modern and perhaps post-modern – with minority groups "in their perspectives and voices, not prioritizing them (MOITA-LOPES, 2006, p. 96) . Thus – supported by Moita-Lopes (1996; 2006), Rojo (2006), Bohn (2005), Fabricio (2006), Rajagopalan (2003, 2006a; 2006b) and Hall (2004) – we want to discuss the current view of LA and its disturbing questions when setting observing the new identities in the modernity "fictionally" presented in strips of Aline, Adam Iturrusgarai (2007, 2009a, 2009b). As conclusion, we can say that new identities emerged in the context of modernity and thus emerge in this field, these is a necessity for new theoretical paradigms and practical construction.
