Este artigo tem como objetivo fazer uma reflexão acerca da proposta em Heidegger de um retorno à experiência original do pensamento por meio do discurso poético como forma de desvelamento do Ser, numa visão diametralmente oposta à dos metafísicos clássicos. São discutidas as relações entre poesia e pensamento a partir, principalmente, dos livros e textos A caminho da linguagem, Identidade e Diferença, O que quer dizer pensar? e A experiência do pensar do filósofo alemão e a necessidade de diferenciar o pensar originário, meditativo do pensamento representativo e calculativo que é a base da ciência e da técnica modernas.

This article aims to reflect upon Heidegger’s proposal of returning to the original experience of thought by means of poetic discourse as a way of unveiling the Being, in a diametrically opposed view to that of the classical metaphysicians. The relations between poetry and thought are mainly discussed from the following books and texts by the German philosopher: On the Way to Language, Identity and Difference, What Does Thinking Mean? and The Experience of Thinking and the need to distinguish the original, meditative thought from the representative, calculative thought, which is the basis of modern science and technics.
