O desejo em manter viva a história da cidade é notada em várias esferas do município de Panambi. Edificações históricas fazem parte do patrimônio da cidade, isso se dá em virtude da sua importante e representativa arquitetura com a identificação dos remanescentes da arquitetura alemã, considerados patrimônio da cidade, da relevância e influência das edificações para o ambiente envolvente e a eclosão do referencial do município na região, e, não apenas por isso, mas sobretudo como afirma Aldo Rossi, a partir da “construção da cidade ao longo do tempo, em que a cidade cresce sobre si mesma, adquirindo consciência e memória”. A pesquisa se dá por análise documental bibliográfica e de uma pesquisa empírica, apresentando um breve apanhado histórico do município de Panambi, questões acerca de patrimônio cultural e os remanescentes da arquitetura alemã na cidade. Desta forma, este estudo se direciona, ou, tem por objetivo, compreender e demonstrar influência da arquitetura germânica na formação do município, contribuindo também, desta forma, para a conservação e preservação da memória.

Safeguarding the architectural heritage is fundamental, as itcontributes to the preservation of memory by establishing the cultural identity of the place, providing subjects with a sense of belonging to the city. The research aims to establish a dialogue between the interrelationships of heritage preservation with the half-timbered architecture produced in the urbanized area of Panambi/RS. Methodologically, the research is structured by a theoretical field and an empirical research. When considering methodological procedures, the theoretical field takes into account a bibliographical review and documentary research on three fundamental aspects: concept and historical perspective of heritage preservation; the architectural heritage and relations with memory, identity and belonging and the half-timbered architecture present in Panambi; while the empirical field considers the case study and the field survey of ownership as an object of study of the half-timbered architectural heritage located in the central urban area of Panambi/RS. Regarding the results, it is possible to perceive that the heritage buildings are part of the city's legacy, as they carry cultural and morphological importance, giving strength to the urban ambiences, given that the German architecture, still remaining, signals an important aesthetic differential from the municipality to the region. It is noticed that by preserving the half-timbered architecture, not only is the historical and cultural heritage preserved, but also the identity of the city of Panambi/RS is strengthened, as such assets are witnesses of a splendid past, helping to tell the history of the city. community and the anxious. Investing in the preservation of the half-timbered architecture of Panambi/RS is essential to maintain the safety and uniqueness of the city.
