O artigo em tela faz uma análise o papel dos intelectuais na disseminação do neoliberalismo na América Latina. A partir de uma leitura histórico-dialética da realidade, pautando-se nas reflexões do marxista italiano Antonio Gramsci, realizamos uma pesquisa bibliográfica de obras de alguns dos teóricos neoliberais, com destaque para Friedrich Hayek e Milton Friedman. Compreendemos então que a constituição de intelectuais é um imperativo para o capitalismo atual e sua reprodução. O movimento histórico do desenvolvimento do neoliberalismo na América Latina demonstra a necessidade de utilização tanto de medidas autoritárias e ultra conservadoras, mediante instituição de ditaduras e/ou defesa de postulados reacionários; como da formação de grupos de intelectuais ligados a determinados setores acadêmicos. Atualmente observa-se que partir da tomada dos Estados diversas medidas de contrarreformas sociais são adotadas e intensificadas em prol do capital financeiro internacional. Na América Latina, a partir da experiência da Ditadura do Chile, temos por exemplo a atuação dos “Chicago Boys”, sua influência é também observada no atual governo conservador de Bolsonaro mediante sua equipe de governo.

The article on the screen analyzes the role of intellectuals in the spread of neoliberalism in Latin America. Based on a historical-dialectical reading of reality, based on the reflections of the Italian Marxist Antonio Gramsci, we carried out a bibliographical research on the works of some of the neoliberal theorists, notably Friedrich Hayek and Milton Friedman. We understand then that the constitution of intellectuals is an imperative for current capitalism and its reproduction. The historical movement of the development of neoliberalism in Latin America demonstrates the need to use both authoritarian and ultra conservative measures, through the institution of dictatorships and / or defense of reactionary postulates; and the formation of groups of intellectuals linked to certain academic sectors. It is now observed that from the taking of the States various measures of social counter-reforms are adopted and intensified in favor of international financial capital. In Latin America, from the experience of the Chilean dictatorship, we have, for example, the performance of the "Chicago Boys", its influence is also observed in the current conservative government of Bolsonaro through its government team.
