Este trabalho tem como principal motivação analisar a influência e o conhecimento que o filósofo alemão Arthur Schopenhauer teve da obra Oupnek’hat que se tratava da tradução latina das principais Upanishads da sabedoria indiana. Através desta análise se percebe os trechos que Schopenhauer se aproveitou para consolidar sua filosofia mas também os trechos onde cometeu diversas imprecisões e equívocos em relação a religião hindu e a alguns conceitos fundamentais das Upanishads.

This work has as main motivation examine the influence and knowledge that the German philosopher Arthur Schopenhauer's work had Oupnek'hat it was the Latin translation of the major Upanishads of Indian wisdom. Through this analysis we can see the parts that Schopenhauer took advantage to consolidate his philosophy but also the parts where he committed several inaccuracies and misunderstandings about the Hindu religion and some fundamental concepts of the Upanishads.
