O artigo examina a "pars construens" da teoria de Guilherme de Ockham sobre os Universais, a saber: o universal como "intentio animae". A tese central do autor em quest consiste em afirmar que o universal um "signum"; por sua natureza, n pode formar nem concorrer para constituir a esscia de uma realidade. Sendo um conceito, serve somente para explicla ou ilustrla. Em vios escritos quer comentando Aristeles, quer comentando a obra Isagogde Porfio de Tiro, com sua anise dos cinco prediceis, Guilherme de Ockham concentra sua teoria dos Universais na apreens do singular.
This article examines the "pars construens" in Guilherme de Ockham's theory on the Universal, that is to say, the universal as "intentio animae". The author's main thesis consists in asserting that the universal is a "signum" and that, by nature, it can neither constitute the essence of areality nor take part in its constitution. Being a concept, it is only useful to explain or illustrate it. Though several works, especially commentaries on Aristotles or on Porfio de Tiro's Isagog with his analysis of the five predicables Guilherme de Ockham concentrates his theory of the Universal on an apprehension of the singular.
