Ao revelar uma atenção renovada para as questões políticas e sociais, as práticas artísticas contemporâneas têm transformado a natureza da arte. Essa virada social, por sua vez, tem desencadeado o deslocamento do artista do lugar tradicionalmente a ele reservado na sociedade, um lugar que o mantinha atado às margens do tecido social, obrigando-o assim a enfrentar o processo de reinvenção de si à luz dessas mudanças nas relações entre arte e sociedade. Neste artigo procuramos refletir sobre as andanças desse artista pelo mundo, além de suas articulações, plenas de fricções, com as complexidades e instâncias do sistema de arte, em especial com o museu de arte.

By revealing a renewed attention to political and social issues, contemporary artistic practices have transformed the nature of art. This social turn has triggered the displacement of the artist from the place traditionally reserved for him in society, a place that kept him tied to the margins of the social fabric, thus forcing him to face the process of reinventing himself in light of these changes in the relationships between art and society. In this article we seek to reflect on this artist's wanderings around the world, as well as on his articulations, full of frictions, with the complexities and instances of the art system, especially with the art museum.

Al revelar una renovada atención a las cuestiones políticas y sociales, las prácticas artísticas contemporáneas han transformado la naturaleza del arte. Este giro social, a su vez, ha desencadenado el desplazamiento del artista del lugar que tradicionalmente le estaba reservado en la sociedad, un lugar que le mantenía atado a los márgenes del tejido social, obligándole así a enfrentarse al proceso de reinvención a la luz de estos cambios en la relación entre arte y sociedad.
