Este trabalho tem o objetivo de analisar o movimento operário e sindical em Passo Fundo durante os anos de 1930 a 1945, salientando que o objeto de estudo são os trabalhadores urbanos e suas organizações. Para tais propósitos, em virtude da pouca documentação sindical do período em foco, foram mais utilizadas, como fontes, os jornais locais. Enfatizar-se-á, ao longo do texto, a disputa entre o modelo de sindicato oficial e as associações autônomas, os movimentos sócio-políticos ocorridos na cidade e o papel do Círculo Operário Passofundense para a consolidação do sindicalismo oficial. O presente estudo nos leva à conclusão de que em Passo Fundo houve uma forte influência dos comunistas até 1935, influência esta reprimida e que abriu caminho para a hegemonia do Círculo Operário na cidade.

This paper has as main goal to analyze the worker and syndicate movements in Passo Fundo during the years of 1930 to 1945, protruding that this study goals are the urban workers and their organizations. For main purpose, in due to the few syndicate documentation on the focused period, the local papers were more used as source. It will be emphasized, in the focused period, a dispute between the official syndicate model and the autonomous associations, the socio-political movement occurred in the city and the Passofundense Worker Circle (Círculo Operário Passofundense) role to the official syndicalism consolidation. This study concludes that in Passo Fundo has happened a strong communist influence until 1935, which was repressed and had opened a hegemonic Círculo Operários’s path into the city.
