O empenho ecumênico da Igreja católica

O ecumenismo, ainda recente na Igreja católica romana, precisa ser cada vez mais acolhido, refletido e posto em prática. A questão ecumênica, indubitavelmente faz parte do ser cristão, pois é inconcebível dizer ser cristão, mas não buscar a unidade, de modo que a unidade é uma das características da Igreja, visto que Deus, apesar de três pessoas, é um só. Foi principalmente com o papa João XXIII que a Igreja teve uma grande abertura para o diálogo ecumênico, de modo que, assim, culminou no grande evento do século XX para a Igreja: o Concílio Vaticano II. Tal evento foi realmente um novo Pentecostes para a Igreja. Portanto, o presente artigo visa refletir acerca do empenho ecumênico da Igreja católica romana, sobretudo em torno do Concílio Vaticano II.

Ecumenism still recente in the Roman Catholic Church, needs to be increasingly embraced, reflected and put into practice. The ecumenical question is undoubtedly parto f the Christian being, for it is inconceivable to say to be a Christian, but not to seek unity, so that unity is one of the characteristics of the Church, since God, in spite of three persons, is one. It was mainly with pope John XXIII that the Church had a great opening for ecumenical dialogue, so that it culminated in the great evento f the twentieth century for the Church: the Second Vatican Council. Such na event was really a new Pentecost for the Church. Therefore, this article aims to reflect on the ecumenical commitment of the Roman Catholic Church, especially around the Second Vatican Council.
