Durante a Segundo Guerra Mundial, imigrantes europeus — alemães e italianos — residentes em Santa Catarina foram alvos da repressão política, sendo forçados a abrasileirarem-se e negarem sua cultura de origem. Castigos foram utilizados pela polícia como forma de amedrontar e, através de torturas e ingestão de óleos, supliciar o corpo. A memória recupera as marcas de violência física e psicológica deste tempo de intolerâncias.

During the Second World War, european immigrants — german and italians — who resided in Santa Catarina's state were politic repression's target, been competed to become brazilian people and to reject their beggining culture. Punishments were used by police to scare them and throgh affliction and oil having to suplicote their body. The memory recovers the physical and pschological violence's signs from this time of intolerance.
