O casamento ortodoxo ucraniano em uma comunidade étnica: entre ritos e sentidos

Este artigo procura verificar como os ucranianos ortodoxos e seus descendentes, moradores da cidade de Papanduva-SC,concebiam o matrimônio e seus ritos, no contexto de sua cultura étnico-religiosa, após a chegada do sacerdote ortodoxo à cidade. Por não haver, durante muito tempo, clero que assistisse àquela comunidade, o padre recém-chegado acreditava poder recuperar práticas religiosas e culturais já em desuso, utilizando-se do púlpito. Fontes orais (depoimentos de ucranianos e seus descendentes) e primárias (três sermões registrados no Livro Tombo) serviram para diagnosticar como o casamento instituído pela igreja local era sentido na comunidade imigrante ao mesmo tempo em que o uso do sacramento consagrava, legitimava e naturalizava diferenças.

This article seeks to verify how the Ukrainian Orthodox and their descendants living in the city of Papanduva-SC, they conceived of marriage and rites in the context of their ethnic-religious culture, after the arrival of the Orthodox priest in the city. For a long time there was no priest to attend to that community and the priest newcomer believed recover the culture has forgotten, for this the priest used the pulpit. Oral sources (reports of ukrainians and their descendants) and primary (three sermons recorded in the books of the Church) they were used to diagnose as marriage contributed to the identification of social and religious and how it legitimized and naturalized the difference.
