O autoarquivamento nos repositórios institucionais brasileiros: um estudo exploratório

Este trabalho objetiva ter um panorama do autoarquivamento no Brasil e a visão dos gestores dos repositórios institucionais brasileiros quanto esta forma de compartilhamento de informação. A pesquisa de caráter exploratória utilizou levantamento bibliográfico e coleta de dados para atingir seus objetivos. Os repositórios integrantes da pesquisa foram selecionados a partir do registro no diretório OpenDoar. Foram identificados 43 repositórios com coleção de artigos. A coleta de dados foi realizada com o envio de questionários eletrônicos semiestruturados aos gestores dos repositórios. Foram retornados 25 questionários com respostas válidas. Constatou-se que 36% dos repositórios institucionais brasileiros não possuem o autoarquivamento habilitado no sistema. Dos RIs com autoarquivamento habilitado a maioria declara que menos de 5% do material no repositório foi autoarquivado. Entre os gestores de RIs que não possuem o autoarquivamento habilitado, 86% acreditam que a minoria dos seus pesquisadores autoarquivariam caso houvesse esta possibilidade. Concluiu-se que existe uma baixa adesão ao autoaquivamento no Brasil. Os dirigentes das instituições e os gestores de repositório precisam ser capacitados quanto aos objetivos do AA e da via verde. Os fatores que afastam e estimulam os pesquisadores na adesão ao acesso aberto devem ser estudados no âmbito de cada instituição e/ou área do conhecimento.

This work aims to have an overview of the self-archiving in Brazil and the vision of the managers of the Brazilian institutional repositories of this form of information sharing. The methodology was based on a survey of exploratory character. The repositories research members were selected from the Open Directory record Donate. 43 repositories were identified with collection of articles. The data were collected with the sending of semi-structured electronic questionnaires to managers of repositories. 25 questionnaires were returned with answers. It was found that 36% of the Brazilian institutional repositories do not have the selfarchiving enabled in the system. Of IRs with self-archiving enabled most states that less than 5% of the material in the repository was self-archived. Between IRs managers that do not have the self-archiving enabled, 86% believe that the minority of its researchers would self-archive if there was this possibility. It was concluded that there is a low adhesion to the self-archiving in Brazil. The leaders of the institutions and repository managers need to know about the objectives of the OA and the green way. The factors that away and stimulate researchers on open access membership must be studied within each institution and/or knowledge area.
