A noção de documento, até inÃcio do século XX, esteve principalmente associada ao material em que eram fixados os registros de informação. Contudo, após esse perÃodo, ocorreu uma mudança de perspectiva no modo de se enxergar o documento, a Redocumentarização, que enfatizou a função do documento como elemento chave para a mediação cultural. Todavia, além desse viés sociocultural, surge nesse contexto de mudanças sociais e tecnológicas, a noção de documento digital. Tal conceito, apesar de sua difusão trouxe alguns equÃvocos terminológicos, como o fato de ser superestimado em detrimento ao “documento tradicionalâ€, ou até considerado como sinônimo de documento hipertextual. Considerando tais equÃvocos e com o intuito de compreender a natureza do documento digital foi feita uma análise terminológica de sua definição. Para isso foram utilizados dois procedimentos metodológicos: primeiramente a revisão bibliográfica, com intuito de retomar o contexto de origem e surgimento do documento digital; e depois a pesquisa aplicada, utilizando-se as técnicas da análise terminológica, com uso de fichas terminográficas e mapas conceituais. Por fim, foi possÃvel constatar, que apesar da natureza dinâmica e fluÃda do documento digital, ele é apenas uma modalidade da noção de documento, que no contexto digital não se fragiliza, ao contrário se ratifica.
The notion of document until the early twentieth century, were mainly associated with material in which the records were set for information. However, after this period, a change of perspective in the way of seeing the document, Redocumentation, who emphasized the role of the document as a key to cultural mediation. However, beyond that sociocultural bias arises in this context of social and technological changes, the notion of digital document. This concept, although its spread has brought some terminological confusion, as the fact of being overestimated over the “conventional document†or even considered as a synonym for hypertext document. Considering these ambiguities and in order to understand the nature of the digital document is an analysis of terminological definition. For this we used two approaches: first was the literature review, aiming to reclaim the context of origin and emergence of the digital document, and a second moment was applied research, using the techniques of terminological analysis, with use of terminological aid of concept maps. Finally, it was concluded that despite the dynamic and fluid nature of the digital document, it is only a modality of the concept document, which in the digital environment does not weaken, rather confirms it.
