O romance Nhô Guimarães, de Aleilton Fonseca, é uma homenagem a Guimarães Rosa, conforme indicação na capa do livro. A narrativa é construída a partir das lembranças e recordações de uma narradora sertaneja octogenária que, por meio da linguagem oral, presentifica o passado. A partir de reflexões sobre o papel da memória, busca-se fazer uma análise do sertão como “lugar da memória”, termo criado por Pierre Nora, e das lembranças de velhos como perpetuadoras da história, estabelecendo um diálogo com a obra Memória e sociedade, de Ecléa Bosi.

The novel Nhô Guimarães, by Aleilton Fonseca, it is a tribute to Guimarães Rosa, according to indication in the cape of the book. The narrative is built from the memories and memories of an eighty-year-old narrator from the backwoods that, through the oral language, brings to the present time facts of the past.
