O artigo tem como objetivo específico apresentar as práticas espaciais e relacionais de moradores da região da Luz, geralmente obliteradas pela polaridade cracolândia-Nova Luz veiculada pela grande imprensa. Por meio de uma etnografia que reconstituiu uma rede de relações entre moradores de diferentes edifícios, desenvolvemos uma inserção que contou com caminhadas pelo bairro com esses agentes, com vistas a compreender e identificar: representações que esses possuem sobre o espaço urbano, usos cotidianos que fazem do mesmo, como delimitam fronteiras e lidam com tensões resultantes dos planos de intervenção do entorno, com atenção especial às dinâmicas relacionais que estabelecem com os usuários de drogas e com seus próprios vizinhos.

The specific aim of the article is to present the spatial practices and relationships of people who live in the Luz district, usually ignored due to the polarity shown in the press between cracolândia (crackland) and the (Nova Luz) New Luz project. Through an ethnography which rebuilt a network of relations between people who live in different buildings, we developed an insight, following walks around the neighbourhood with these agents. We wanted to understand and identify: representations they have about the urban space, the way they use it in daily life, how they establish frontiers and how they deal with the tensions resulting from the plans to intervene in the area, paying special attention to the relational dynamics they establish with drug users and with their own neighbours.
