MICROEMPREENDEDOR INDIVIDUAL: POR QUE FORMALIZAR?

Partindo do estudo da Lei Complementar n°128/2008 e levando em consideração a importância das pequenas empresas no país, muitas delas atuando na informalidade, foi desenvolvido este trabalho com o intuito de identificar as razões da formalização dos microempreendedores individuais (MEI’s) de Ilha Grande-PI. A abordagem utilizada neste trabalho foi de cunho quantitativo e qualitativo. Ademais, a pesquisa foi operacionalizada por meio da aplicação de questionário a fim de atender os objetivos deste trabalho. A pesquisa contemplou 184 respondentes. Os resultados apontam que a maioria dos respondentes têm entre 31 e 36 anos, atuam no setor do comércio e faturam cerca de 2 salários mínimos. Verificou-se que estar desempregado, trabalhar por conta própria e perceber uma oportunidade no mercado são os motivos mais apontados pelo MEI’s quando optaram pela formalização. No que tange aos empreendedores informais, o medo de perder algum benefício foi revelado como o principal motivo para os empreendedores locais continuarem na informalidade. Os respondentes também revelaram que conhecem e já tiveram algum tipo de contato com a sala do empreendedor, ou para se informar sobre os benefícios da formalização, ou para buscar o suporte dela.

Based on the study of Complementary Law nº 128/2008 and taking into account the importance of small enterprises in the country, many of them acting in the informality, this work was developed with the purpose of identifying the reasons for the formalization of individual micro entrepreneurs (MEI's) Ilha Grande-PI. The approach used in this work was quantitative and qualitative. In addition, the research was operationalized through the application of a questionnaire in order to meet the objectives of this work. The research included 184 respondents. The results show that the majority of the respondents are between 31 and 36 years old, work in the commerce sector and revenues around 2 minimum wages. It was found that being unemployed, self-employed and perceiving an opportunity in the market are the reasons most pointed out by MEI's when they opted for formalization. As far as informal entrepreneurs are concerned, the fear of losing some benefit has been revealed as the main reason for local entrepreneurs to remain informal. Respondents also revealed that they know of and have had some kind of contact with the entreepreneur's room, or to learn about the benefits of formalization, or to seek their support.
