Aos trinta e três anos do golpe
de estado sofrido em Chile, pode-se advertir
que uma de suas maiores conseqüências
foi a desarticulação das instituições,
organizações populares e as crenças
nas funções do estado como protetor
e promotor da cidadania. O Estado constituiu-
se, paradoxalmente, no aniquilador
destes mesmos, pelo que não se está frente
a um trauma psÃquico de Ãndole individual
senão que sua origem está ancorada
em sua estrutura social. O presente
artigo explora a relação entre memória
enquistada, a que se entenderá como um
construto cognitivo, afetivo e social que
se vai desenvolvendo e definindo a partir
do contexto sociopolÃtico e como esta
vai-se constituindo e transmitindo
transgeneracionalmente. Esta análise está
baseada em dois estudos que exploram
tanto os processos de memória como
transgeracionalidade do trauma desde
um olhar psicossocial.

Approaching thirty-three years
of the coup d’ etat that affected Chile, it
can be observed that at the social level one
of the consequences was the dismantling
of the institutions, organizations, and the
beliefs in the functions of the State as
protector and provider of the citizens.
Instead it became the destructor of its
citizens, therefore we are not only facing
a psychic individual trauma, but rather
its origins are anchored in its social
structure. It is only now, due to the
recognition of the truth of the repressive
situations, the impunity, and the recurrent
retraumatizations, when it is possible to
grasp the impact, the consequences and
how these patterns are a part of our
society.
