Aborda o conceito de mediação no campo da CI. O presente estudo toma como base a seguinte pergunta: como se constitui o conceito de mediação no campo da Ciência da Informação? O objetivo da pesquisa é discutir sobre a mediação aplicada no campo da Ciência da Informação no âmbito da informação social, da construção do conhecimento e das relações entre mediação e apropriação da informação. A metodologia foi construída no contexto da pesquisa bibliográfica permitindo a cobertura de uma gama de fenômenos a partir da qual foi possível elaborar um processo reflexivo baseado em múltiplos diálogos com a literatura científica nacional e internacional de diferentes períodos históricos. Conclui-se que a constituição da mediação no campo da CI se dá por meio de dois vieses: epistemológico contribuindo para composição do objeto da CI nas perspectivas pragmáticas, humana e pedagógica; e profissional da informação em centros de informação mediante um novo olhar de atuação no contexto de intervenções e interferências.
Addresses the concept of mediation in the field of IC. This study builds on the following question: how is the concept of mediation in the field of information science? The objective of the research is to discuss the mediation applied in the field of information science in the social information, the construction of knowledge and the relationship between mediation and appropriation of information. The methodology was built in the context of literature allowing coverage of a range of phenomena from which it was possible to develop a reflective process based on multiple dialogues with national and international scientific literature of different historical periods. It is concluded that the establishment of mediation in the field of CI is through two biases: epistemological contributing to the CI object composition in pragmatic, human and pedagogical perspectives; and professional information in information centers through a new action to look in the context of intervention and interference
