Neste texto pretendo analisar a morte “continuada” de Frederico Eduardo Mayr, um jovem estudante morto sob tortura durante a Ditadura Militar no Brasil. A mãe de Frederico Mayr lutou por quase duas décadas para reaver seus restos mortais e o sepultar. Minha intenção é partir de um caso para uma análise mais ampla, tanto do contexto político abordado, quanto dos aspectos teórico-metodológicos da disciplina histórica. Para tanto, parto do contexto da Ditadura Militar no Brasil (1964-1985) abordando a história da prisão e morte de Frederico Eduardo Mayr e a subsequente luta de sua mãe para reaver o seu corpo e contar a sua história.
In this text I analyze the “continuing” death of Frederick Edward Mayr, a young student killed under torture during the military dictatorship in Brazil. The mother of Frederick Mayr fought for nearly two decades to recover his remains and bury him. My intention is initiate the analysis of a case for a broader analysis of the political context and the theoretical and methodological aspects of the historical discipline. Therefore, I initiated the paper whith the context of military dictatorship in Brazil (1964-1985) approaching the history of the imprisonment and death of Frederick Edward Mayr and the subsequent fight of his mother to regain his body and tell your story.
