Este artigo discute o processo de recepção do teatro de Luigi Pirandello no Brasil nos anos 1920, tendo por pressuposto a valorização dos diálogos sociais e culturais estabelecidos entre Brasil e Itália desde o século XIX. Assim, realçamos breves aspectos da imigração italiana, a importância estética do autor e as suas propostas de renovação teatral com o objetivo de aprofundar, no âmbito do conhecimento histórico, os estudos sobre as práticas culturais e artísticas de uma época.
This article discusses the theater reception of Luigi Pirandello in Brazil in the 1920s, based on the assumption the valuation of social and cultural dialogues established between Brazil and Italy since the nineteenth century. Thus, highlight brief aspects of Italian immigration, the aesthetic importance of author and its theatrical renewal proposals with the aim to continue research, within the historical knowledge, studies on cultural and artistic practices of an era.
